The goal of the facility and maintenance department is to design, construct and maintain functional, safe and attractive schools for the students of Berrien county. We work closely with architects, engineers and contractors to build these facilities.
We have a staff of six maintenance employees that strive to keep all facilities within the school system repaired, maintained and functioning properly. These buildings total more than 480,000 square feet of floor space.
The staff is responsible for all aspects of the facilities to include air conditioning, plumbing, food service equipment repair, refrigeration, furniture repair, carpentry, roofing, electrical work, locksmith work and more. Because of the wide range of experience of our staff very little out sourcing is needed. This helps make this department more economically viable to the school system and the citizens of Berrien county.
